Step-by-Step Visual Guide: How to Make Honey Dijon Vinaigrette

Testing Notes from Robyn

Say goodbye to store-bought dressings because this 5-minute vinaigrette takes hardly any time or effort to mix up.

Plus, I always find that homemade sauces and dressings are way fresher than store-bought and they’re such an effortless way to add flavor to any salad or dish.

Since there’s no chopping in this recipe, all you have to do is add everything except the oil to a bowl or mason jar and mix, then drizzle in the olive oil and mix some more. Simple as that!

And for even easier cleanup, I recommend using the mason jar method because the jar also serves as a storage container for the dressing.

You most likely have all the ingredients you need in your kitchen, but if you don’t have red wine vinegar and happen to have some lemons on hand, try this similar lemon Dijon dressing

How to Use Honey Dijon Dressing

Of course, this sweet and tangy vinaigrette is the perfect topping for any salad!

It works well with mixed greens, arugula salad, kale salad, grilled or roasted asparagus, and as a dressing for pasta salad or quinoa salad.

I also love to drizzle it on hearty quinoa or brown rice bowl recipes with veggies and protein.

Or, you can double as a delicious marinade for chicken (similar to this lemon chicken marinade) or salmon.

How to Store Leftover Dressing

This homemade dressing keeps super well in the fridge for up to 5 days, so you can use it all week long on so many different dishes.

The vinaigrette may separate and look clumpy when refrigerated. This is because oil can solidify at cooler temperatures.

To use, simply remove from the refrigerator, allow to come to room temperature, and shake well to recombine.
